Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) is a common condition in Dachshunds where the discs that cushion the vertebrae either bulge or burst, causing pain, nerve damage, or even paralysis.

• Pain and Discomfort: Exhibiting signs of neck or back pain, which can include crying out unexpectedly, shivering, and reluctance to move.
• Changes in Gait and Posture: You may notice a hunched back, stiff movements, or difficulty walking. In severe cases, there may be partial or complete paralysis.
• Loss of Bladder and Bowel Control: In severe cases of IVDD, the dog may lose control over bladder and bowel functions, which indicates significant nerve damage.
